Coverage
Apply a minimum final thickness of 1 gallon per 50 sq ft (4.65 sq/m). It should require around 2-3 heavy coats to achieve your final membrane.
1 x 5 gallon pail of RV Roof Coating will coat RV's up to 30 feet. Be sure to use up all material.

For Step-By-Step Guides Specific to Your Project
Make sure your surface is clean, dry, and free of dirt, silicone, loose paint, rust, oil, grease, coal tar, or other contaminants. Apply using a 3/8 (10mm) roller, brush or paint sprayer. Temperature should be above 10˚C/50˚F (including overnight temperatures) and without rain or dew in the forecast when applying.
Use RV Smart Cleaner to clean the surface and EPDM Primer for EPDM roofs and Multi-Purpose for most others. If corrosion is present use a water-based rust primer.
We recommend testing a small patch before full application. Warning! EPDM Primer is extremely sticky. Apply the EPDM Primer to one side of the RV (leaving the other side uncoated so that you can walk along the length of it and work on it.) Allow the EPDM Primer to dry for 1-2 hours.
Generally, you can apply 1-2 coats per day. Apply next coat when dry to the touch (typically 6-8 hours, tacky is OK). Apply each new coat in an alternate direction to the previous coat to ensure even thickness.
Work in manageable sections. Apply the RV Roof Coating over the EPDM Primer, leaving 4-6 inches of the primer exposed so that you will be able to overlap it when you begin the second side. Allow the RV Roof Coating to dry enough to walk on, and repeat the process for the second side.
Avoid contact with solvents and solvent based cleaners, adhesives and paints. Do not allow to freeze until fully cured and do not combine black products with the colored products. EPDM is a rubber sheet coating. TPO and PVC are a plastic type sheet membrane.
Remove painter’s tape as soon as possible (while coating is still wet). Curing time depends on temperature, humidity and airflow but product typically cures in 48 hours.
If your RV is still under warranty be sure to contact the manufacturer to ensure you do not void the warranty.
