About Sealing leaky gutters

A leaking gutter is an unfortunate home issue that can be easily avoided. The problem occurs when the seams connecting the gutters break down. You'll see characteristic sagging that leads to dripping, leaking and overflow that can damage your house. Sealing your gutters helps prevent this potential water damage.

What is the 5 Year Warranty?

Liquid Rubber's time-tested and proven waterproofing materials will protect your home from a leaking gutter when properly applied.

  1. Warranties are valid only for complete applications; partial repairs are not covered by this warranty. (Refer to application guideline)
  2. Failure to follow the procedures outlined in our application guidelines will negate this warranty.
  3. All recommended materials must be used in accordance with our guidelines, in the recommended quantities (coverage rates), and stored and applied in the required atmospheric conditions (e.g., temperatures, humidity, etc.). Refer to the product TDS sheets and application guidelines for details. 
  4. Register your warranty within 30 days of purchase by filling out the form on this page (You will need your order number and project details)
  5. If you have an issue or any questions, contact Liquid Rubber Technical Support within 30 days at 1-855-592-1049
  6. The warranty covers the replacement of Liquid Rubber materials needed to repair failed areas only and does not cover associated labor, tooling, or other costs.

You cannot transfer the warranty to another party.

The limited warranty only applies to the product and does not cover property damage, physical or economic loss.

Warranty is void if:

  • The coating is damaged due to natural forces, disasters, or acts of God (e.g., hurricanes, tornadoes, hail, lightning, earthquakes, insects, branches, or animals).
  • Directions in the guidelines, including adherence to conditional requirements (e.g., temperature, humidity, dew point, and coverage rates), are not followed.
  • Structural defects cause the coating to fail.
  • The coating is damaged as a result of exposure to harmful chemicals applied to the product or cured membrane.
  • Physical damage of any kind is caused to the membrane.
  • The product is altered in any way, unless explicitly instructed in writing by a Liquid Rubber Technical Specialist.

How to seal your gutters

Essential Resources for Your Project

Project Steps

  1. Your Workspace

    Prep your space and gather your materials. Make sure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of all matter. Make sure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of all matter.

  2. Detail Work

    Remove backing on Liquid Rubber Seam Tape and bridge joints/seams with tape. Lay Liquid Rubber Seam Tape loose and flat, do not stretch. Apply pressure to adhere Seam Tape.

  3. Masking

    Apply painter’s tape while to protect surfaces you do not want to coat.

  4. Apply the Coating

    Apply a thick coating of Waterproof Sealant. Apply the next heavy coat when the product is dry to the touch, and nothing is wet underneath. Tacky is ok.

  5. Clean Up

    Pull up painter’s tape while coating is still wet. Close container to secure leftover product. If spillage occurs, soak up as much material as possible with rags. Clean immediately with soap and water. If spill is dried, scrape off as much as possible with a razor or scraper. Use mineral spirits to weaken product and an appropriate tool such as a wire brush or grinder to mechanically remove. If splashed on the skin immediately wash thoroughly with fresh water. If the product has dried on the skin massage the area with medical grade mineral oil, baby oil or edible oil, then wash with soap and water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

  6. Helpful Tips
    • Avoid hot, direct, intense sunlight during application.
    • Do not apply if dew or rain is forecast.
